As of December 16th, Youphoria will no longer be offering Microblading services.

If you have already had tattooed eyebrows in the past, Jackie does not do cover-ups or fixes in these situations. If you have already had microblading done, and would like Jackie to touch-up another artist's work, you must first meet with her for a consultation so that she can determine whether or not a touch-up on their work will be in the best interest of you both.

Jackie prides herself in maintaining the highest standards of safety and sanitation in all of her procedures. All of the tools she uses for microblading procedures are one-time use, disposable implements.

A note about Microblading regulation in Pennsylvania:

All of us at Youphoria recognize the importance of performing all services offered legally, in a safe and sanitary environment. Before beginning to offer this service, we were in communication with the Pennsylvania State Board of Health, who oversees tattooing and permanent cosmetics regulation in the State of Pennsylvania. The representatives from the State Board of Health informed us that in Pennsylvania, each individual local municipality is responsible for regulating Microblading services within their limits. Our municipality informed us that there are no further regulations  with which to be concerned when it comes to offering Microblading services in our facility.

Because we are classified as a Cosmetology salon in the State of Pennsylvania, we also contacted the Pennsylvania State Board of Cosmetology to be sure that we would not be in conflict with the rules and regulations in place by the State Board of Cosmetology. We were informed that the State Board of Cosmetology does not regulate the administering of tattooing/permanent cosmetics procedures (including Microblading). We were also informed that any Microblading done in a Cosmetology salon in Pennsylvania must be done in a room classified as "exempt" at the time of licensure. The room in which our Microblading services are performed is classified as such, and therefore, we are not in conflict with the law.

Microblading DOES NOT require the supervision of a Physician or Medical Director in Pennsylvania.

Jackie Boylan, our certified Microblading specialist, completed her certification with World Microblading in December of 2017. If you have any questions about Microblading, please feel free to contact Jackie via email at thebrowfectionist@gmail.com. Jackie is also a licensed Cosmetologist in the State of Pennsylvania and specializes in brow shaping services using hard wax.

For pricing information, please contact Jackie Boylan via email at thebrowfectionist@gmail.com or call us at (717) 826-7397 and ask to speak with Jackie.

What is Microblading?

Microblading is manually implanting pigment into the epidermis layer of the skin with a hand held tool that has tiny, sterile and disposable needles. It allows me to create natural hair like strokes to give the illusion of real hair. Whether you have brows or do not have any brows, this is a great service for you. I can give you brows, reconstruct them or enhance what you already have with microblading! Microblading is a two session appointment process, once your brows heal after the first appointment, 6-8  weeks later you will come back for your second session.

Does Microblading Hurt?

Every client is different when it comes to microblading. I do my best to ensure everyone is comfortable throughout the whole procedure. I use a topical numbing cream to help minimize any discomfort from start to finish. This helps tremendously and aids in a painless session. Clients have said the sound is more bothersome, which is why I play music or request you bring headphones to help with that.

How long does Microblading last and what is the downtime?

Microblading can last up to two years. After care is very crucial to ensure the most color retention following your sessions. Your skin type is also an indication of how long your microblading will last, dry skin can last longer while oiler skin types may be 1- 1 1/2 years. Applying sunscreen while outside of under any UV rays is very important. I will spend time with you at the  time of your appointment to go over more aftercare and to answer any questions to the best of my ability. Healed results will vary for all individuals.  Good news! Typically clients have NO downtime after their sessions and can go about their day to day lives.

Do I need to wax/thread, shave or groom my eyebrows prior to my microblading procedure?

No, I ask all my clients to leave their brows alone prior to their procedure. If you do wax, or thread your brows please do so 2 weeks before the appointment. I shape the brows and like to use as much hair that is already present. Your regular brow maintenance can continue after the brows have healed!

What factors could affect microblading?

  • Excessive bleeding during the procedure: please see Pre- Procedure Instructions to know what will cause excessive bleeding.

  • Contraindications: please see the contraindications list.

  • Sun exposure: the sun will fade the pigment, I encourage all my clients to apply sunscreen to their HEALED brows.

  • Lifestyle: Smokers, sunbathers, clients with certain skin issues ( acne, psoriasis, etc.) may affect the result of how the brows heal and how long they will last.

I DO NOT have control over the healing process, therefore there is NO guarantee made and additional sessions may be needed for optimal results. In this case, additional charges may be made which could be determined by a separate consultation after your first and second sessions. While I provide all my clients with my absolute best efforts and highest quality of service, there could be certain factors that could potentially hinder the results of the service including healing and improper aftercare.

  • I DO NOT offer this service to anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding.

  • I do not offer this service if you are UNDER the age of 18.

  • Pricing is subject to change at any time (adding shading to your procedure will increase the final price.)

  • Please allow 32 hours in advance to cancel your appointment. If you need to reschedule please keep in mind you may not be able to get in right away as I already have clients scheduled.

  • Clients should arrive promptly for their appointment, if you are 15 minutes late I may have to reschedule your appointment for another day. I can not and will not rush browfection!

  • For now the whole amount is required at checkout which includes the first and second session. This may change in the near future. We will schedule you touch-up appointment at your first session.

  • If you are a client who has previously brow tattooing or microblading, I will request CLEAR photos of what your brows look like and will decide if I am able to do microblading. I am very selective when working over another artists' work. Please make sure you include the date of the last brow tattoo/microblading, and the amount of sessions you've had. Please email me this information at thebrowfectionist@gmail.com

  • Wash your hands first then WASH brows gently on your first and second night following the procedure with warm water and a very gentle soap, Cetaphil is great. Make sure that you do not have any blood or lymph after these washes as they will harden and scab VERY THICK. On day THREE NO water on brows for 10-14 days.

  • Apply PRECIS BROW BALM generously THREE times a day with CLEAN HANDS. If brows become dry or itchy, apply more brow balm.

  • STAY OUT OF SUN/ TANNING BED FOR 14 days after procedure.

  • KEEP your brows DRY during your shower as best you can, but NO pools, hot tubs, saunas, lakes, etc for 14 days.

  • AVOID sweating for 14 days, a very light sweat is ok, but please blot with a CLEAN paper towel GENTLY. Sweat can and will change the pigment color so please be aware.

  • AVOID brow makeup, brow tints, or other facial treatments for 14 days.

  • PLEASE make sure when you apply skin makeup, it is BEST to AVOID brow area at all costs. WASH your makeup brushes AFTER each microblading session. (My recommendation is to avoid face makeup, lotions & potions, etc for TWO weeks.)

  • If using anti-aging or acne products that lighten, brighten, or tighten the skin, please AVOID using these products around your brow area indefinitely. If you choose to continue the use of these products they WILL almost immediately fade or change the color of your brows.

  • DO NOT SCRATCH THE BROWS IF THEY ARE ITCHY, if you really need to relieve the itch, you can PAT GENTLY with CLEAN HANDS.

  • Please KEEP HANDS OFF the the brows while healing... for example, NO resting hands on face while healing.

  • NO tinting of brows, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, laser, botox/ fillers for 4 weeks after procedure.

  • NO facials for two weeks after your procedure.

  • If you are any sort of glasses wearer, please do your best to keep your glasses clean especially the rim where they hit the brow area. Using a antibacterial wipe or soap will do the trick of cleaning the glasses.

  • AVOID smoke, dust, dirt and debris for 1 week.

  • Sleeping face down or side sleeping is frowned upon and WILL affect the color of your brows, please try and sleep on your back for 14 days. Also do your best to make sure you wash your pillowcase during the healing process.

** AFTERCARE is extremely important to achieve best results, if not followed properly it can result in an infection due to the open wounds. If you experience adverse reactions or symptoms, PLEASE SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY and NOTIFY ME AS WELL.

  • Possible redness and swelling can occur up to 48 hours after your procedure.

  • The brows that have been microbladed will appear much darker and more bold during the first few days or the healing process.

  • The area will become itchy and will want to scab, it is VERY important to follow the aftercare instructions to keep a hydrated healing process as best you can.

  • If the pigment starts to flake, DO NOT PICK, SCRATCH, ITCH, OR PULL off any of the areas that are peeling.

  • If you choose to pick and peel, please realize you are pulling out piment and will result in spots and some cases scarring.

  • Once the brows start healing, you will notice a more softer look and that is when the pigment has started to settle creating a more natural result.

  • You will experience some fading within in first 6 weeks following your procedure, please note this is very normal. You must allow the full healing time in order to see the true color of the strokes.

  • At your touch-up appointment, I will add more strokes and see what has faded so I can refine and perfect the brows.

  • Microblading brows can typically last 1-2 years depending on client lifestyle, aftercare and skin type.

  • Fading will occur with sun exposure and tanning in beds,  failing to apply SPF will exacerbate the fading. Please wait to apply SPF once brows are fully healed.

  • To keep a well maintained shape, I do recommend to keep up with any waxing, threading, or tweezing once brows have healed.

  • Please avoid any laser around your brow area.

  • Although microblading adds fullness, color, and shape to the brows, some clients may still need to apply brow powder, pencil, etc to achieve their desired look.

  • Avoid chemical exfoliants on the brow area, the use of these will cause premature fading and discoloration to the microbladed brows.

  • A yearly touch- up is recommended to ensure the best results for you.
